Now, it has been revealed by Sahara Reporters that Buhari decided to go AWOL due to his health status.

It was earlier revealed that during his visit to the United Kingdom, President Buhari will undertake a visit to medical doctors in a London hospital.

A source said there was a debate within the presidency about the medical visit, with some of his handlers arguing that the Syria meeting provides a perfect alibi as the President should not be seen to be sick less than one year after taking power.

It might be recalled that following the six-week postponement of the presidential election, Mr. Buhari spent a prolonged period in London, reportedly to rest.

He subsequently spent another nine days in London to meet with his doctors, returning only one day before his inauguration.

  1. Is good enough if the president went for medical check up.After all he has worked so hard since his inauguration. We should realise that what he is doing is more or less sacrificial.
Mustn't the president go for medical check up.It is required of a good manager to take his or her medical condition very seriously.
Let's not be petty. How many young people ,so to speak, can put in the number of hours the fairly old but energetic man is putting in in order to salvage this country?

    3. Why do our leaders always run to other countries for medical care? There are many qualified Nigerian medical doctors working in those countries. South American countries belong to the 3rd world like Nigeria, but their leader do not go to other countries for medical care.

  10. It is natural to be sick and usual to seek for medication. Whether healthy or sick, certainly President Buhari will one day die. What matters is he is doing the right thing to the right people at the right time but considered the other way by pessimists and antagonists of Nigeria. Even if the President dies, Nigerians have at least been exposed to the wrong doings of a few corrupt enemies of Nigeria and Nigerians. Certainly there may be others who will take over from him having like minds to continue to pilot the Nigerian plane out of this mess. God answers prayers,of His infinite mercy, He will bail out Nigeria. May God continue to assist the President and his well meaning cabinet to salvage Nigeria

  11. God enjoins every Nigerian to pray for his/her leaders; and He hears our prayers and grants them good health. And medical checkups for very busy top office holders are necessary monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, etc. Pstr Eric

  15. The president deserves his rest and medical check up. He has worked extremely hard and all eyes can see. The results are coming already in terms of savings from TSA, recoveries from looters, jitteries already catching the thieves. It is not about being young and energetic...but about knowing what to do and doing it without fear or favour. Buhari is now the chicken that lays the golden egg and must be properly taken care of at any cost. I plead with Nigerians that we must not waste this great opportunity of having PMB correct the ills of this society. May God keep him for us, Amen

    1. I can see you're really Buharimeniac! To you, he has the magic wand to rescue Nigeria from the thorny problems bedeviling her, created by decades of bad leadership and mismanagement. For you to evaluate and adjudge Buhari a superlative performer thus far, audibly singing his praises to high heavens, even when he's done very little after 7 months , except for his hyped corruption war, then you must be suffering from a condition I'll call 'Buharimenia'.Can you tell me what Buhari's visions and roadmap for taking Nigerians to the El Dorado he promised during electioneering are?Don't forget he said he would make gasoline and the dollar exchange for N40 and N1 respectively within a short time-frame?How does he intend to achieve this, among others? If you know, tell me,I have been painfully grappling to figure out where he's taking us and the route being taken.I can only hope he does not plunge us deeper down, the valleys the way things are going. I can't imagine any good leader who expresses fears in public to throw his subjects in panic mode or who fondly spends time blaming others or says one thing and somersalts the next moment for the sour taste it left his audience.Be objective and dispassionate when x-raying

  16. Those who have a job to do will stay on and finish their work. Those who are lazy and pretend to be doing something when they are not, will not last since God knows that they have nothing else doing. Buhari is very busy and will continue to be busy rebuilding our country. The Almighty who called him into the ministry will elongate his life so that he can successfully accomplish his purpose. I have no doubt that he will enjoy his leave and medical check-up and return back to continue his job, so help him God

  18. IS IT WRONG TO GO FOR A MEDICAL CHECK? MUST HE PRETEND TO BE HEALTHY WHILE SICK?.WHY ARE NIGERIANS SO INSENSITIVE? I THINK WE SHOULD WAGE WAR AGAINST PRETEX. WE HAD PAST LEADERS WHO PRETENDED TO BE HEALTHY WHILE VERY SICK, AND LOOTED THE COUNTRY TO A SICK STATE, DUE TO THEIR MENTAL DERAILMENT, SHOULD WE CONTINUE THAT WAY?
