A showdown is imminent between the Presidency and the Senate
following a failed attempt by Senate President Bukola Saraki to stop his
trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), DailySun reports.
According to reports, a fraction of the Senate are planning to launch a full-scale war against the Presidency.

Who said Saraki should not own ill-gotten property. This case is False Assets Declaration, in as much as he did not acquire any property under proxy, he should feel free to declare all that belong to him to avoid this imbroglio. No one will ask bird not to sniff tobacco leaf, so far it would not hit head on the pole. if those in government can steal then the government agencies should be able to grab them up.

ReplyDeleteSaraki should resign or impeach to enable smooth proceeding in the senate. He cannot be sitting as President of Senate and along side hearing/attending court proceeding. In the developed Nation, none of their government official would be accused and still remain on seat acting within the capacity he was voted after all to serve Nigeria is not by force.

ReplyDeleteIf it is true that, Saraki falsely declared his asset while in office as a gov. of Kwara State. I think for smooth proceedings in the upper house, he should not hesitate to resign and face his CCT trial. One thing our politicians fail to know is that, no matter what they do in secret while holding public office will at one point in time rise its ugly head against them. He should dance to the tune of his music.

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like change in Nigeria, there is nothing like good governance in Nigeria, everybody in this present federal government is corrupt, the senate should IMPEACH any body they want to impeach and enemies of saraki should leave him alone, the ministers who are former governors and they were accused of funds looting and stealing from their various state funds and resources should all declare their assets and be locked up in kuje prison.

ReplyDeleteBOTH SENATE and BUHARI ARE CORRUPT, in fact the most corrupt because he did not arrest and probe the ex-governors of APC states that he appointed as ministers, tinubu looted money of lagos state when he was governor, fashiola also looted money and Amaechi looted money and ran to hide under APC, babangida and obasanjo also looted money and built houses, refineries and investment abroad, buhari's wife was involved in Halliburton bribery and stealing, if buhari does not arrest all of those thieves and send them to kuje prison, he must be impeached by the senate let whatever will happen start, no body is afraid of the threat of the north, if they don't sent the thieves in APC to kuje prison, buhari is encouraging thieves and corruption by appointing them ministers and for not probing babangida.

ReplyDeleteThe 29 Senators are jittery because they have skeletons in their cupboards. They know that sooner rather than later it will be their turn. What the EFCC should do now is to assign DESK OFFICERS to begin to look at the records of service of those 29 senators wherever they have served. The country will be pleasantly surprised at what will surface thereafter.
